Rules of Pai Gow
Poker
Pai Gow Poker is played with the standard deck of 52 cards and one joker.Â
The role of the joker is intended for use as a wildcard, where the player
will be using the joker for the value of the card which they want like using
it for wild card in flushes, straights and straight flushes where they were
not able to manage to draw the card needed in actual value. Some casinos
require the joker to be substituted for Ace and can be considered to be used
as a wild card in any poker hand.
- The dealer shuffles the decks of cards.
- 7 stacks of 7 cards are dealt by the dealer and 4 cards from this are left
behind, which means counting the 52 plus 1 joker, there will be 53 cards, 7
different stacks of 7 cards each is dealt, which is 49 cards, after this 4
cards will be left from the deck.
- The dealer throws three dice from the teacup. The number which comes in
the dice is used to determine the player, from whom the left over 4 cards
will be distributed.
- The number which will show up in the dice will be counted on the players
like you do in inky pinky ponky, you keep counting each player as 1, 2, 3,
4, until you complete counting the number which came in the dice. The
player on whom you spot the nth number in the dice is the player; the other
players are dealt with the remaining 4 cards. If there is no player in the
numbered spot, the cards are not dealt.
The goal of the players is to make 2 hands from the 7 cards dealt to them:
- One hand will be a 5 card hand.
- Other will be a 2 card hand
The high hand (5 card hand) should have a higher value than your low hand (2
card hand):
- The 5 card hand is the high hand.
- The 2 card hand is the low hand.
Also, the player should beat the dealers hand to win.
